Step 1: Download Sonitus
Sonitus is available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Search for "Sonitus" by Kelthos, or visit our website to find direct download links. The app is approximately 50 MB, which includes the AI engine and a professional-grade sound library.
Step 2: Grant Microphone Permission
When you first open Sonitus, it will ask for microphone access. This is essential. Sonitus listens to your voice through the microphone to detect pitch, key, tempo, and dynamics. Without microphone access, the app cannot function. All audio processing happens locally on your device. No audio is ever sent to any server.
Step 3: Connect to Speakers
For personal practice, your device speaker works fine. For church use, connect your device to your sound system using one of these methods:
- Aux cable from your device headphone jack to the mixer or speaker input
- Bluetooth to a Bluetooth-enabled speaker or receiver
- USB audio interface for the lowest latency and best quality
If you are using an external speaker, use headphones or earbuds for monitoring so the microphone only picks up your voice, not the output audio. This prevents feedback loops.
Step 4: Start Singing
Tap the play button and start singing. Within seconds, Sonitus will detect your key and begin generating accompaniment. You do not need to tell the app what key you are in, what tempo to use, or what chords to play. Everything is inferred from your voice.
Start with something familiar. A well-known hymn or worship song you have sung many times. This lets you focus on hearing how the accompaniment responds rather than thinking about the song itself.
Step 5: Explore the Controls
While Sonitus works beautifully with zero configuration, there are controls available for those who want them:
- Style selector — Choose from 63 musical styles including worship, hymn, gospel, praise, and African styles
- Instrument toggles — Enable or disable individual instruments (piano, organ, guitar, bass, drums, choir)
- Volume mixer — Adjust the balance between instruments
- Tempo lock — Fix the tempo if you prefer a consistent BPM rather than adaptive tempo
- Chart mode — Enter a chord chart for songs where you want specific chord progressions rather than auto-detection
Step 6: Activate Your License

Tips for Best Results
- Sing clearly and confidently. The AI responds better to a strong vocal signal.
- Avoid holding the microphone directly against your mouth. A few inches of distance prevents audio clipping.
- In noisy environments, use a clip-on lavalier microphone pointed at your mouth for cleaner input.
- Let the AI settle into your key before making dramatic changes. It adapts within a few seconds.
- Experiment with different styles to find the one that matches your church's culture.
That is everything you need to get started. One voice, one device, and Sonitus handles the rest.
